Walkers Invited To Paramus Event To Support Domestic Violence Center

PARAMUS, N. J. -- The Center for Hope and Safety New Jersey officials invite everyone to walk on Saturday in Paramus to highlight the problem of domestic violence, and raise money to support victims.

The center is hosting its first walk at 9 a.m., Saturday, at Van Saun Park in Paramus. The 3K stroll follows the walking path at Van Saun Park, and all pre-registered walkers get a t-shirt.

There will be awards for biggest teams, most funds raised and most spirited walkers. For details about registration and fundraising, visit the event's website. There will also be children's activities, vendors and awards at noon Saturday after the walk is complete.

Center officials say they hope to raise awareness about domestic violence and center services, along with money to help support the center. The non-profit agency provides housing, psychological support and other services to domestic violence victims.
